Nevill "Nevill arms above ye window on ye outside of Hilton quire in stone, Warcop Church. " Hill MSS. 7, 448.* *"It is highly probable that the porch now called Hilton Porch formerly belonged to the Tower, which supposition is strengthened by the Nevil arms above the.window, inasmuch as the Tower belonged to the Nevils. These arms are now set up over tbe entrance of a pigsty belonging to the Vicarage. 'To what base uses we may return, Horatio!' No, it is more likely that ye Nevil arms were in the Bleatarn Porch, and yet Machell has made a mistake in saying they were in the Hilton Porch. The Bleatarn Porch belonged to the Tower, which was Nevils." Hill MSS., 7. p. 448.
