Barker (N. altar tomb, rails). Here lie the Remains of Thomas Barker who was drowned in crossing Milnthorp Sands on the 21st of June 1815. Interred July the 8th Aged 18. He was the third Son of Daye & Elizabeth Barker of Low Wood in the Parish of Cartmel. Amiable lamented Youth: Heaven endowed thee with a strong comprehensive Mind, and a guileless Simplicity of Disposition. In thee we thought to have seen the Man of Worth but thy Course was brought to a sudden Period by Him whose December ees are sometimes inscrutable yet ever merciful. What is our Consolation ? Even the exalted Hope of Immortality through Jesus Christ.

Arthur Upton of Levens Hall and Kilburn, Middlesex, third son of John Henry first Viscount Templetown of Castle Upton, County Antrim, Ireland. He was born at Wonham in Surrey Janry. 15th I807, died in London April 23rd 1883. He married in 1866 the Honble. Frederica Blake, daughter of Joseph Henry, 3rd Baron Wallscourt of Ardfry County Galway, Ireland. He served in the ColdstreaIll Guards and after becoming General was appointed Colonel of H.M. 107th Regiment of Foot. This monument is erected in loving and grateful remembrance by His Nephew and Niece, whom He ever loved as His own children. The righteous shall be had in everlasting remembrance. Psalm CXII. 6. Howard (N). + I. h. s. Here lieth Alexander Forbes a native of Culloden in Scotland, for fifty one years. in the service of the family of Howard at Levens Hall, by whom he was beloved and respected, he died February 23, 1861 at the age of 77.

Antrim, Colonel in the Army, sometime in the 1st or Grenr. Regiment of Guards. He married 9th July 1807 Mary only daughter of Richard, and the Honble.Frances Howard, when he took the name of Howard. She was heiress to Elford Co. Stafford, Castle Rising in Norfolk, Levens in this parish, and Ashtead in Surrey, where his remains are deposited, but at each of these spots his name has made for itself a lasting resting place. He was wise and good, let the void left by his death In the hearts of those who mourn his loss bear testimony how deeply he was beloved. B. 3rd April 1773. died 4th March 1846. Howard (Ib). Sacred memory of the Honble. Mary Greville Howard of Levens Hall, widow of Coll. the Honble. Fulke Greville Howard. On the death of her father in the y. 1818 she became possessed of the estates of Castle Rising in Norfolk, Elford in the County of Stafford, Ashtead in Surrey, and Levens in this Country. She resided frequently at each of them and has left in all ample proofs of her wise and Christian benevolence, but nowhere has the care she had for her own people been shown more abundantly than in this country, and in this neighbourhood. She died at Ashtead on the nineteenth of October 1877 in the 93rd years. of her age - last of a long line. In loving remembrance of her generous nature and never failing affection they who remain to deplore her loss raise together this monument in memorial of her worth and excellence. Swinglehurst (E. stone edging). In loving memory Jane, wife of John Swinglehurst, she was a good, trustful, loving Wife and mother, born at Preston in 1821, married at Bolton in 1844, she sailed round cape Horn with three children in 1855 and after visiting the coast of Peru returned in 1859 with her husband and five children to England and for nearly twenty five years. spent a sweet and peaceful life at Hincaster House, where she bore a short but severe illness with exemplary resignation until on the 22 August I883 the Lord took her into everlasting rest.

Antrim, Colonel in the Army, sometime in the 1st or Grenr. Regiment of Guards. He married 9th July 1807 Mary only daughter of Richard, and the Honble.Frances Howard, when he took the name of Howard. She was heiress to Elford Co. Stafford, Castle Rising in Norfolk, Levens in this parish, and Ashtead in Surrey, where his remains are deposited, but at each of these spots his name has made for itself a lasting resting place. Here lies the Body of Mary Wilson, Widow of Walter Wilson of Heaves who died November 27th, 1816 Aged 92.

Sacred memory of James Smyth A.M. vicar of Heversham, Who died January 27, 1757 aged 50: and of Mary Smyth his widow, Who died July 14, 1791 aged 71, also to the memory of Henry Wilson A.M., vicar of Heversham who died April 12, 1797 aged 77. and of Henry Wilson A.M. his son, scholar of Queen's College Oxford, who died July 23, 1795 aged 20.

Wilson (In. S.W). Sacred memory of the Reverend . John Wilson who departed life the 12th of November 1798 aged Seventy one. He was Master of Heversham School during a period of 39 years. As a Teacher, he was beloved and respected, As a Clergyman he was exemplaryand revered. Multis ille bonis flebilis occidit.

Wilson (E. stone edging). S. beloved m. Robert Wilson Memory of R.C.S. of Laburnum House, Milnthorpe, son of John Wilson Esqre., Sandys Close, Kendal, who died 16th December . 1856 aged 42 years. , also to Helen his eldest daughter , born 29th March, died 26th May 1852.

Wilson (N) . In affectionate remembrance of Thomas Wilson of Leasgill, born December . 19th 1805, died September . 3rd, 1884. For 65 years. a faithful servant on the Levens Estate. Also Sarah, Wife of the above Who died September . 15th, 1884, Aged 73 years.
Wilson (S. altar tomb). Here lieth the Remains of the Revnd. William Wilson of Darwen, Lancashire, who departed this life the 7th October 1790, Aged 31 years. Soon from my Friends was called away Unto my everlasting Rest, Gladly the Call I did obey Because the Life he thought it best. James Wilson, Father of the Above, died 21st January 1795 Aged 83 years. Ellen, Wife of the Above, died 5th September . 1796 Aged 84 years. Ellen their daughter m. to John Burrow of Milnthorpe, died May 14th, 1812 Aged 68 years. Mary her sister died unmarried Augst. 1816 Aged 62 years. John Burrow, Husband of Ellen, died March 18th 1829 Aged 78Y . Ann his daughter and Wife of John Postlethwaite of Milnthorpe died January 25th, 1838 Aged 56 years. " If we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so them also which sleep in Jesus will God bring with Him." John Postlethwaite, Husband of the above died December 21st, 1845 Aged 59 years. " As in Adam all die, so in Christ shall all be made alive."
Woodburn (N). Sacred memory of Elizabeth & Thomas, children of Thomas & Mary Ann Woodburn, Beathwaite Green in this parish. Elizabeth died December 22nd 1853 Aged 2 years. Thomas died January 27th, 1854 Aged 6 m. " Suffer little children to come unto me and forbid them not for of such is the kingdom of God.
Woods (N. altar tomb, rail). In memory of James Woods Esq. of Rochdale, who died at Heversham September 18th, 1867 aged 68 years.
Yeates (E. altar tomb, rail). Sacred memory of John Yeates Esqre, late of Park Head, Levens, and formerly of Kirkland, Kendal, who died December 23rd, 1847 aged 51 y., as a mark of the esteem in which he was held by his fellow townsmen, he was elected the first Mayor of the ancient Borough of Kendal after the passing of the Municipal Reform Act ; also in m. Margaretta his wife, who died September 29th, 1847 aged 45 years.
Yeates (E. altar tomb, rail). In memory of John Yeates Yeates, who died July 22nd, 1860 aged 34 years. , also on February 11th, 1860 John Anthony Yeates aged 6 m. the infant son of the above John Yeates Yeates and Mary Frances his wife, also s. m, George Henry Brettargh Yeates, Esqr. late of Parkhead and B . . . . . Holt who died on the 18th of October 1875 aged 34 years.
Yeats (E. altar tomb, rail). In memory of Harriett, relict of the late Thomas Pearce James Esqre, of Lydney, Gloucestershire, who departed this life at Parkhead October 4th 1854 aged 50, also in m. William second son of John and Margaretta Yeates, who died December 29th, 1862 aged 33 y
Young (E. pyramid of four sides on pedestal). (1). In memory of John Young Esqr. the oldest Son of Col. James Young and many years. a beloved inmate of the Vicarage. His death in 1836 at the Age of 27 was sudden as a warning to others to be equally ready. (2). Inter arbores aliis pro- futuras quas A.D. 1800 posuit ipse hic jacet quod mortale fuit Georgii Lawson Ec(clesire) hujus plus quadruginta annis Vicarii, dehinc autem meliora petentis. Obiit A.D. 1842 Ætatis77. (3). Behind this cold Memorial lie the Remains of Henrietta Lawson, as a Wife and Mother affectionate, and to the needy bountiful. She d. November . A.D. 1825 Aged 55.
