Sacred memory of Mary Anderson, fourth daughter of Robert and Mary Anderson of Cirencester, Gloucestershire ; who died (at the residence of her aunt Mrs. Barrow) at Milnthorpe June 6th 1834 aged 19 years. Thus early removed from this transitory scene, it is a great consolation to her friends to know she was perfectly resigned to the Will of God; humblv hoping for salvation through the merits of the redeemer. Her affectionate father caused this tablet to be erected to her memory.

West {Antiquities of Furness) notes this bearing to Beetham and N. and B. {1. 224. appendix 628-30). and Whitaker {Richmondshire II. 334}, the former in their notice of old stained glass formerly at Beetham assign a like coat to Burton. The herald Vincent, however, {supra p. 1092) attributes to the latter sa. saltire engr. ar. a chief of last. † N. & B. Mr. Norcliffe calls it a Saracen's head in a note to Mr. Bellasis. ‡ Fusily or loxengy according to N. and B. {1. 628-30) and ascribed by them to Croft {see infra, under Legh). § Tunstall, Musgrave, Strickland, Middleton, and Banister figure n the Betham descent. N. and B. make no note of the Tunstall and Fleming coats, and the two crowns, nor does Mr. Norcliffe of this latter. This tomb would seem in some respects a hard heraldic nut for Westmorland to crack, and to require separate treatment to an extent somewhat beyond the scope of the present general work. Hill MSS. (Around marble frame for glass and flowers on high stone). In affectionate remembrance of Robert Bevan Parker, eldest son of Roger and Joan Bevan of Saltcoats, Arnside, who died at Scargill, Halton, November 1st 1884 aged 45 years. " It is the Lord, let him do what seemeth him good."
Birkett (W). Sacred memory of Jane Birkett who died at Beetham July 15th 1866 aged 66 years. She patient bore the ills of Life, Her Maker did adore. A Mother kind; a faithful wife, Her God exacts no more. This stone is erected by her affectionate Son E. B. Also of Joseph her eldest son who died in Liverpool April 12th 1869 aged 37 years.
Bottomley (In. N). Near this place lies the Body of Jonathan Bottomley, Clothier of Stainland near Halifax, Yorkshire, who unhappily perished on our Sands, and was buried here December 31st 1787 Aged 32.

Crowle (In. pillar S). Near this Pillar are interred the Remains of Daniel Wilson Esqr. of Dallam Tower who. departed this life the 31st of May An. Dom. 1754 Aged 74. He married Elizabeth, daughter of William Crowle Esqr. of Hull in Yorkshire By whom he had Issue 6 Son and 2 daughters He represented the County of Westmoreland in Parliament near 40 years. with the strictest Honour and Integrity. In private Life He was an Affectionate Husband, An Indulgent Parent, A sincere Friend, An Hospitable Neighbour, and in all Stations of Life His Conduct was Uniform & Consistent. His Son Edward Wilson Esqre. erected this Monument to his Memory.

Here is interred the body of Sarah, eldest daughter & heiress of Daniel Wilson Esqr. and Wife of George Wilson Esqr. of Dallam Tower, born July 26th 1782, she died , alas, May 29th 1831 in the 49th years. of her age, leaving a large surviving family, her encouraging example by patient continuance in well doing, to seek for Glory, Immortality, and Eternal life. " The ornament of a meek and quiet spirit is in the sight of God of great price." 1 Peter chap. 3. In the adjoining vault are laid the remains of Frances Wilson, youngest daughter of the above who died December 30th 1842 in the 23rd years. of her age." " I will never leave thee nor forsake thee." here also lie the remains of George Wilson Esqr. husband of the above Sarah Wilson, son of the Rt. Honl. John and Lady Georgiana Smyth of Heath in the county of York, formerly Colonel in the Coldstream Guards, born November 6th 1782, died March 8th 1853. Thomas Tomlinson their son born 1618, died May 27th 1718, Jane, wife of Thomas Tomlinson and daughter of Robt. Dickinson of Whasset died January 27th 1691. John son of Thomas and Jane Tomlinson died January 22nd 1691. Ellen his wife and daughter of William Smith of Arkholme died January 22nd 1691.

" And so He Bringeth them to the haven where they would be." This Tablet is raised in affectionate remembrance of by their surviving daughters.

By his second wife Sarah only daughter of Robert Harper Esqr. of Heath, he left issue two daurs. Here also is interred the body of Sarah dau and heiress of Robert Harper Esq., of Heath, in the County of York, and wife of the above, she died December 25th 1829 in the 66th years. of her age. Mason (S). Mr. Anthony Mason, Purser of the Danae Ship of War, who was born in April 1711, dyed the 7th of October 1770 and was buried here. His Issue one Son named Thomas, and one Daughter named Nancy. Mrs. Ann Mason his Widow erected this Stone to his Memory.

She was a diligent, faithful, loving Wife; A tender, indulgent Parent ; A sincere Friend; and a pious Christian. She lived an example worthy the imitation of her Sex. Her Husband erected this Stone As a Testimony of Gratitude to her Memory. He married Elizabeth, daughter of William Crowle Esqr. of Hull in Yorkshire By whom he had Issue 6 Son and 2 daughters He represented the County of Westmoreland in Parliament near 40 years. with the strictest Honour and Integrity. In private Life He was an Affectionate Husband, An Indulgent Parent, A sincere Friend, An Hospitable Neighbour, and in all Stations of Life His Conduct was Uniform & Consistent. His Son Edward Wilson Esqre. erected this Monument to his Memory.

Here lie the remains of Daniel Wilson of Dallam Tower, Esquire, living to an advanced age, respected and beloved by all who knew him, he died in peace November l0th 1824 in his 78th years. , he was twice married leaving no issue by his first wife Beatrix, daughter of Samuel Egerton of Tatton Park Esqr. By his second wife Sarah only daughter of Robert Harper Esqr. of Heath, he left issue two daurs. " Keep Innocency and take heed unto the thing that is right, for that shall bring a man peace at the last." Here also is interred the body of Sarah dau and heiress of Robert Harper Esq., of Heath, in the County of York, and wife of the above, she died December 25th 1829 in the 66th years. of her age. " In the sight of the righteous they seemed to die, and their departure is taken for misery, and their going from us to utter destruction, but they are in peace." Wisdom chap. 3. " Thy will be done ", here also are interred the remains of Georgiana, eldest daughter of George and Sarah Wilson, born December 4th 1812, she d. July 26th 1846, she sought early and earnestly peace with God, and found it alone in the merits of her Saviour. " Seek, and ye shall find." S. Mat. c. 7. v. 7.

Wood (In. S). Near this Pillar is interred ye Body of George Crowle Esq. of Cunswick, who departed this life at Beethom ye 17th of April an. Dom. 1753 Aged 44. His afflicted Widow erected this Monument to his memorv. Also Elizabeth, Dr. of Samuel Wood Son of William . Wood Esqr. of Woolverhampton, & Elizabeth his Wife, Relict of the above Geo. Crowle Esqr. who died 30th April 1772 Aged 14. Also Elizabeth, Wife of Samuel Wood. She died May 25th 1787 Aged 62. And their Son, Samuel Wood of Milnthrop, who died March the 18th 1795 at the Age of 32Y. much lamented. Also of Frances Wood, Relict of the late Samuel Wood. B. October 2nd 1772, died June 1st 1821. Yeats (N). Sacred memory of Agnes, Widow of Matthew Bell of Kendal And Daughter of William Yeats of Nether Leek. She departed this life on the llth dayof March A.D. 1778 in the 49th years. of her Age. She left an only Child John who erected this Monument to an affectionate Parent.

In memory of Thomas Cartmel of Farleton who died the 1lth August 1785 aged 72; and Mary his wife, elder daughter of William Yeats of Nether Leck who died 21st April 1808 aged 88, and of Thomas Cartmel their eldest son, who died 13th January 1819 aged 66; and Nancy his wife who died 16th April 1844 aged 73, also of Thomas, eldest son of the above named Thomas and Nancy Cartmel who died 23rd September 1832 aged 32; and Anne his only child who died 14th of June 1833 aged 17 m., also George, rector of Pwlly-Crochan, Pembroke, second son of the above named Thomas and Nancy Cartmel who died 24th June 1857 aged 54, and was interred in Pwlly-Crochan churchyard, also of William their third son, who died 2nd January 1856 aged 51.

AJso of Dorothea, youngest daughter of the above who died l Augst. 1834 aged 17 and of their third son Raynes Waite who died at Funchal, Madeira 28 November 1846 aged 31. " And so He Bringeth them to the haven where they would be." This Tablet is raised in affectionate remembrance of by their surviving daughters.

Sarah Yeats, relict of the above died the 3rd of September 1822 Aged 81 years. , much lamented by the neighbouring poor. Jennet their elder daughter , and Wife of the Revd.
