Appleby St Michael (N.W). In memory of Thomas Armstrong, chemist and druggist, late of Carlisle,
who died September 5, 1842, aged 52 years.
Brough (S). Sacred memory of Jane daughter of John and Jane Armstrong of Market Brough who died May 14th 1795 aged 14 years. Also Jane his wife who died May 7th 1800 aged 59 years.
Burton In Kendal (Altar tomb W). Sacred memory of John Armstrong Esqr., Surgeon, of Burton in Kendal,
and formerly a native of Castleton, Roxburghshire, who died March 9th, 1847 in
the 69th years. of his age, also of Jane, relict of the above and only surviving
da. of the late John Wakefield Esqr, of Bowers House, Lancashire, who died
December 12th 1851 aged 61 years.
Grasmere (Card and glass). In L. Memory of Hannah, the beloved daughter of John and Hannah
Armstrong Who died on April 9th, 1886 aged six years.

1. Sacred memory of Isabella Blamire eldest daughter of Richmond Blamire Esq. who departed this life
September 14th 1845, whose whole life was characterized by Benevolence and
every kind and affectionate feeling of the Heart, and who was a bright
example of Patience, Resignation and Piety. In Life how valued! In
Death,–how tenderly lamented !
2. Here rests in God, by the side of her loved and long mourned sister,
Frances wife of Robert Baynes Armstrong Esquire, Queen's Counsel, of the
Inner Temple London, died 19th March 1862 aged 77. Psalm lxxiii, ver. 26.
"My flesh and my heart faileth, but God is the strength of my heart and my
portion for ever." Also by her so tenderly in life, and mourned in death,
Robert Baines Armstrong Q.C. bencher of the Inner Temple, who died January
15th 1869 aged 84.
Kirkby Lonsdale (W. column.) Sacred memory of Alice Clark, aged 31 y; Agnes Walling aged 25; Bella
Cornthwaite, aged 20; Hannah Armstrong aged 18; Agnes Nicholson aged 17, all
of whom were hurried into eternity, in the awful destruction by fire of the
Rose and Crown Hotel in this town, on the night of the 6th of December 1820.
(E. side). In the midst of life we are in death. Before the mountains were
brought forth, or ever thou hadst formed the earth and the world, even from
everlasting to everlasting, thou art God. Thou turnest man to destruction
and sayest, return ye children of men. Thou carriest them away as with a
flood, they are as a sleep in the morning, they are like grass which groweth
up. In the morning it flourisheth and groweth up, in the evening it is cut
down and withereth. Erected by voluntary contributions.
Kirkby Stephen In memory of Alice Alderson (widow of John Alderson of Harker House, Swaledale;) who died January 27th 1845, aged 81 years. also of Ann Armstrong daughter of the above who died on the 18th day of November 1855 aged 50 years.
Kirkby Stephen John Armstrong died March 20th 1820 aged 59. Elizabeth his wife died December . 20th 1844 aged 88.
