Burton In Kendal (N). William Hewitt, died January 1st 1870 aged 83 years. This stone is
erected in m. an old and valued servant by E. G. S. Hornby Esqr. Dalton
Hall. Looking unto Jesus. (N. side) Sarah wife of William Hewett died February
24th 1873 aged 83 years. "asleep in Jesus."
Burton In Kendal (Chancel window) † To the honour and glory of God and to the cherished
memory of Edmund Hornby, died November 18, 1858, aged 84. Edmund GeorF:e
Hornby died February 26, 1865 agt:d 65. This window is dedicated by an
affectionate daughter and sorrowing widow.
Burton In Kendal (4 tombs within rails). (1.) i. h. s. † Edmund Hornby died November 18, 1856
aged 84. "By grace are ye saved through faith, and that not of yourselves,
it is the gift of God."
(2.) Looking unto Jesus, the author and finisher of our faith. Edmund
George Hornby, at rest February 26, 1865, Aged 65.
(3.) (Cross). O Lamb of God. That takest away the sins of the World,
Grant us Thy Peace. Elizabeth Sarah Ware, and eldest daughter of Edmund George
Hornby, born S. Barnabas' day 1828, passed away September 27, 1884 "Blessed
are the pure in heart for they shall see God."
(4.) Sarah Hugginson, -b. September l0th, 1788, died January 25th, 1871.
"There remaineth a rest to the people of God."

Burton In Kendal (S. low altar tomb). In memory of James Richardson who laboured 44 years. in the
service of Edmund Hornby Esqr. and who died March 16th 1858 aged 69 years. This
stone is placed by Edmund George and Sarah Hornby. For nearly 50 years. the
above James Richardson assisted in the choir of this church, also of
Catherine wife of the above who died December 8th, 1857 aged 69 years.
Burton In Kendal (S). In memory of Edward Walker who was employed for upwards of 40 years. at Dalton
Hall, and who died the 18th day of May 1863 in the 63rd years. of his age. This
stone is erected by E. G. Horn by Esq.
