Crosby Garrett (Brass below above window). To the Glory of God & in Memory of Reverend Mark Newby M.A. of Trinity Coll. Cambridge, 28 years. Rector of this Parish. He was the eldest Son of the Reverend Geo. New by Memory of A. of Witton-le-Wear. He died 28 December 1860, & was interred in the family burying place at Barmingham Co. York. + " In demonstration of the Spirit & of Power." I Cor. 11.4.

Sacred memory of James New by of Milnthorpe who died on the 22nd day of November 1849 aged 87 years. , also of Mary his wife who died on the 4th day of July 1838 aged 75 years. , also of Bella their daughter , who died on the 23rd of August 1818 aged 22 years. , also of Daniel their son 1819 aged 19 years. , also of Agnes their daughter & wife of Thomas Green, who died on the 9th day of August 1849 aged 48 years.

Here also lie the remains of Agnes his Wife who Departed this Life July the 24th 1759 aged 94. Here likewise lie the Remains of Robert Shepherd Son of the above William and Agnes. Shepherd who Died a Batchelor june the 25th 1777 aged 89 Also William Newby, Cordwainer of Kendal who departed this Life January 23rd 1791 aged 52.

Also of John his Son who died October 28th 1761 Aged 5 Memory of And William his Son, clockmaker, who died December 3d 1800 Aged 32 Y. And James his Son, watchmaker who died December 20, 1807 Aged 43 years. And of Ann his Widow who died January 37,1808 Aged 77 years. Ann Newby died L. June 13th 1814 aged 40. Jane Newby, departed this life June 30th 1817 Aged 46.
