Vicar of this parish) who died January 16th, 1845 aged 60 years. , this tablet is erected by a few of his former pupils to mark their high esteem of him as a master, a friend, and a Christian minister. " The Lord grant unto him that he may find mercy of the Lord in that day." 2 Tim. I xviii.

Barbara Bowness daughter of the above died April 18th 1839 aged 16 years. William son of the above died August 31st, 1844 aged 23 years. Charles son of the above died October 4th 1846 aged 21 years. The Reverend Thomas Unthank Gibson Vicar of Barton son of the above died at Terril Lodge on the 13th day of April 1855 aged 36 years.

Hebr. X11l. v. 7.8. This Tablet is dedicated by the Parishioners of Barton to the memory of the Reverend Thomas Unthank Gibson B.A. their late Vicar who departed to the mercy of God April XIIIth A.D. MDCCCLV in the XXXVIth years. of his age.

Brougham (W. of path, pillar). This stone is erected to Memory of Elizabeth relict of the late Thomas Gibson of Cumrew who departed this life at Moor Houses on the 18th of March 1837 aged 63 years.

Also of the above John Jameson who died 21st August 1881 aged 90 years. Looking for the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ unto Eternal life.

Crosby Ravensworth (Under the Tower N. with figures, a woman with two children, a third in her arms, and another figure, with cross). This monument was erected by an approving Public as a token of respect to the memory of George Gibson, Gentleman, late of Crosby Ravensworth, who passed his life in this his native valley, in the modest exercise of every social and domestic virtue. Youth profited by his precepts, and old age grew better from his example, the poor, the desolate and the afflicted, alike bemoan his departure, and good men looked upon his death as a public bereavement. After religiously superintending the reconstruction of this Church, and aiding with his own skilful hand so excellent a work, he died as he had lived, meekly trusting in the merits of his Redeemer, full of Christian hope and resignation on the 12th of October MDCCCXXXV , in the 81st years. of his age. The righteous shall be had in everlasting remembrance. Ps. cxil . (Scroll below, music). Psalm 122. Crosby Ravensworth (N. transept, W.). Sacred memory of Jane Gibson, The Wife of Thomas Gibson of Oddendale, and the daughter of Robert and Barbara Wilkinson of Maulds Meaburn, Who died on the 13th of September 1841, in the fifty-third years. of her age. Her Husband, sorrowing for her loss, but hoping to meet her again in a better state, caused this monument to be erected as a last token of his esteem and affection.

Crosby Ravensworth (N. Transept). This Transept was re-erected A.D. 1872-3 to the glory of God in loving remembrance Thomas gibson of Oddendale, who after passing a long life in the home of many generations of his family, a bright example of Christian living, “pure in heart”, “pitiful”, “courteous”, departed to his rest on the 20th day of June 1869 in his 91 years. He was the eldest son of John Gibson of Oddendale Esquire, J.P. and Ruth his Wife, the former of whom died on the 12th day ofDec. 1828 aged 76. The latter, daughter of Arthur and Margaret Bousfield of Ravenstone dale, on the 21st day of December 1828 aged 77. + The other children of the said John and Ruth Gibson were Margaret, B. May 28, 1780 died Jan. – 1821. Frances, B. May 11 1782, died Dec 3, 1852. Arthur, Vicar of Chedworth Gloucestershire, formerly Fellow of the Queen’s College, Oxford B. Dec 31 1784 died August 7, 1878. John, Vicar of Newbold Pacey Warwickshire formerly fellow of the Queen’s College Oxford B. May 6 1787 died June 23 1867. George, B. October 11 1789, died December 26, 1878. Richard, B. Apr 24 1792, died Aug 25 1880. Michael, B. Crosby Ravensworth (Window N. aisle). Arms: sa. Chevron betw. 3 bees ar. + This window and door adjoining were erected to the golory of God by Lillies Sewell in m. of her beloved husband George Sewell, grandson of the late Geoirge Gibson of this parish, he departed life June 28, 1870, in his 60th years.

Grasmere (E. a cross alid law stane rail. On scroll). Thy will be done. In memory of Jane Elizabeth, widow of Charles Gibson of Quernmore Park, Lancashire Esquire, who died on September xx, mdccclxii aged lxv.

Kendal (In. brass, Bellingham chapel). Here lies the Body of Mr. John Gibson, late of Liverpool, who died the l0th day of December 1728 in the 26th years. of his age. He married Agnes daughter of Mr. George Wilson of Kenda1 by whom he had Issue one Da: called Mary; who died the 23d day of March 1733 in the 7th years. of her age, and lies interred in the same Grave.

And of Joseph Gibson, Whelprigg, Son of James and Mary Gibson who died June 19th 1833 in the 83rd years. of his age. Also of Joseph Gibson, Whelprigg, Son of William and Margaret Gibson who died October 6th 1868 in the 64th years. of his age. 3. To the memory of Margaret Wife of William Gibson of Beck-head who died on the l0th day of Augt. 1808 aged 44. She endured with Christian Resignation severe and protracted bodily afflictions and met the approach of Death with humble Confidence. Also of Mary Gibson their daughter who died on the 29th day of November . 1809 aged 20, cut off in her Bloom, full of Promise. William Gibson, son of James and Mary Gibson died March 13th 1843 aged 81 years. Margaret Gibson, daughter of William and Margaret Gibson died February 22nd 1850 aged 57 years. Requiescat in pace. Also the Remains of Rowland Gibson of Kirkby Lonsdale. He departed this life November (I) 2, 1785 Aged 86 years. Also the Remains of Mary Gibson, daughter of Rowd. & Mary Gibson who departed this life February 16th 1785 Aged 45 years.
