Appleby St Lawrence (No Chancel A isle.) In memory of Thomas Heelis of Appleby Castle, under-sheriff for the County of Westmorland & an alderman of this borough who died June 8th 1806 aged 78. Ann his wife died November 21 1765 aged 28. Mary their daughter died September 5, I770 aged 10. Ann his second wife died August 26, 1779 aged 37. Isabella his 3rd wife died Apr. 28, 1795 aged 43. Richard Heelis Memory of D. his son, by Ann his second wife died May 12, 1806 aged 32. This monument was erected by the Reverend John Heelis, son of the above named Thomas Heelis & Ann his Ist wife, Ann daughter of the above named John Heelis & Jane his wife, died Apr. 6, 1810 aged 16. Jane their daughter died Apr. 18, 1810 aged 6. Loraine their son died Apr. 15, 1811 aged 2. Sarah Isabella their daughter died November I, 1823 aged 18. William their son died at Silsden, December 4th 1840 & was interred at Skipton in Craven aged 39. The Reverend . John Heelis Memory of A. above named, formerly rector of the parishes of Brougham & Dufton in this county died 8th July A.D. 1843 in the 80th years. of his age. Jane his wife died Ist February, 1853 aged 85. Reverend Richard Heelis Memory of A. Rector (Perp. Cur. C.B.N.) of Silsden, Yorkshire, who died at Nice, France, on the 29th March 1865 aged 57. John Heelis of Appleby solicitor who died on the 30th March 1869 aged 72. Thomas Heelis of Skipton, solicitor who died on the 30th May 1878, aged 83. Reverend Edward Heelis Memory of A. Honorary Canon of Carlisle & for 40 years Rector of Long Marton who died April 27th 1880 aged 84. Robert Heelis Memory of R.C.S. & L.A.C. who died at Brighton Sussex on the Ist August 1880, aged 80. Sons of the above John & Jane Heelis.


Grasmere (With low stone edging). In memory of Mary daughter of Stephen and .Ann Heelis of Manchester and of Forest Side in this Parish, who died the 12th day of June 1856, Aged 15 years. Also of the said Ann Heells who died April 4th, 1858 Aged 53 y. Also of Thomas Second son of the said Stephen and Ann Heelis who died the 10th day of November 1867 Aged 33 years. Also of the said Stephen Heelis who died August 26th. 1871 Aged 69 years.


Long Marton (Chancel S. Window). " Wherefore I put thee in remembrance that thou stir up the gift that is in thee." To the glory of God and in m. Ann Heelis who d. April 20, 1886 aged 83, this window is dedicated by her 20 grand-children.

Rector or Long Marton, died 27th of April 1880 aged 84 years. Also Ann his wife d. 20th April 1886 aged 83 years. also of Jane Heelis who died January 2, 1844 aged 13 years. Arthur Loraine her brother who died July 17th 1861 aged 20y. and of William Ernest Heelis their nephew who died June 15th 1861 aged 18 m. also of their son Edward Heelis, solicitor, of Appleby, who died 28th July 1887 aged 52 years.
