Bampton (E). Sacred memory of William. Johnson who departed this life December 11th 1836 Aged 71 years. Also
Isabella his wife who died December 15th 1836 Aged 81 years. They were interred in
the same Grave on Friday the 16th day of December. This stone was erected by
their Son the Reverend . Thomas Johnson of Abbottsford, Lower Canada, of dutiful
affection to his beloved parents.
Seldom occurr'd in humble married life
A happier Concord between Man & Wife;
In life one track unanimous they trod,
In Death together went to meet their God.
Beetham (In. N). John Johnson of Beetham was interred the 5th day of Oct. 1730.
John Johnson his son was interred the 19th May 1735 in the 49th years. of his
age. Tho. the son of John Johnson Ye Younger was interred the l0th of April
1720 in the 1th years. of his age. Jane his daughter was interred September . 13th
1727 in the 5th years. of her age. Mary wife of John Johnson, ye younger was
interred ye 19th of November . 1749 in Ye 60 years. of her age. James the eldest son
of John & Mary Johnson was buried near this place November . ye 15th 1769 aged
52, in his lifetime he erected this monument to the memory of his parents, John the 3rd
son of John and Mary Johnson died April 17, 1787 aged 61. Arms, Gu. 3 spear
heads, chief ermine.
Beetham (In. W). Near this Place is interred the Body of William Yeats of Nether
Leck in the County of Lancaster, who died 31st January 1770 in his 77th years. Also
Agnes his Wife, daughter of John Johnson of Bee-
thom [altered from Beetham] by whom he had Issue two Sons and three daughters ;
She departed this life 12th March 1759 Aged 66. Edward their oldest Son died 16thJune 1734
in the 12th years. of his Age. And Jennet Yeats their daughter 21st March 1775 Aged
49. Arms. Ar. 3 gates gu. impaling 3 spear heads ppr., chief ermine Crest,
goat's head or.
N .B.- On S. is an old flat and narrow stone; on E. a wooden cross; on
W. two old long stones. Another stone with socket is probably the base of a
rood.
Brough (S). In Memory of John Grainger of Brough Sowerby who died June 16, 1866 Aged 76 years. Also Margaret wife of the abovenamed J. Grainger who died April 9th 1862 Aged 66 years. And of Mary Ann, Wife of Christopher B. Johnson of Hawes and daughter of the abovenamed John and Margaret Grainger who died Febuy 13 1868 aged 34 years.
Brough (S). Here lyes the Body of Alice, daughter of Henry and Joan Johnson who died May the 12th 1745 Aged 21 years. and 7 m.

In Memory of Eleanor, consort of Henry Johnson of the United States, and daughter of Michael Ewbanke of Rampson in this Parish ; who after many years residence in America came to her native Country for the benefit of her health and died at her Father's House the 16 of November 1805 Aged 35 years.

Heversham (In. N. W. aisle). Sacred memory of Bateman Backhouse of Milton, gentleman, who died
the 23d of August 1823 aged 84, also of Isabella his widow, daughter of Edward
Johnson Esqr. of Old Hall, who died the 28th of July 1827 aged 66.
Heversham (In. S). Bequest Anno Domini 1803 Principal £200 Sterling. Robt. Johnson
of Kennington Place, Surrey Esqre. gave by his Will for for ever to invest
in Trustees' Names in the Funds the Amount of Stock £361 1s. 6d. 3 Per Cents
1726 Bank Annuities and such Dividends & Interest for to be divided amongst
the Poor Persons of Heversham and Leasgill only, first deducting thereout
Annually one Guinea for the Vicar of Heversham upon his Preaching a Charity
sermon.
Heversham (E. altar tomb). In memory of Robert Johnson late of Plum-tree Bank, who died 15
Dec. 1797 aged 92, And of Elizabeth Johnson his wife who died 29 April 1802
aged 89. Also of Elizabeth Johnson, wife of Richard Johnson their Son, who
d. December 9, 1801 aged 53.
Kendal (N. W). Sacred to the Memory of George Holden Johnson, Son of the Reverend .
Benjamin Johnson, Vicar of Great Gidding, Hunts, & Catharine his Wife. He
was for four years. Master of the National School in this Town. He departed this life on the
20th January 1834 Aged 36 years. Near him are laid two of his Children, Catharine
Eliza, who died September the 8th 1831 Aged 8 years. And George Holden who died
August the 28th 1833 Aged 7 years. (Mr. G. H.J. made the plan of Kendal in Mr.
Nicholson's A nnals, 1832).
Kendal (E). Sacred memory of Thomas Lonsdale, Late Manufacturer in this Town, who departed life on
the 21st day of February 1844 aged 66 years. His affectionate Widow caused this
stone to be erected.. Also of Emma Lonsdale his Widow who died February 27th
1852 aged 81 years. Also of Richard, Son of the above who died April 4th 1808 aged
11 m. And also of Emma Johnson, Grand-da. of the said Thomas Lonsdale, and
infant daughter of James and Emma Johnson, who died on the 21st of July 1844 aged 2
y. and 3 m. And also of James Johnson the Son of the above named who died 25th
February 1846 aged 3 m. Afterwards Isaac Johnson, who died June 26th 1847 aged
4 m. and 3 weeks. James Johnson their Father who died December . 18th 1851 aged 37
y. (My. Jennings).
Orton (N. Broken pillar). In affectionate remembrance of William Johnson of the refreshment rooms, Tebay who died August 13th 1875 aged 40 years.
