Grasmere (In. W. board). Charities, Edward Partridge of Grasmere and other benevolent Persons gave the sum of £50 the Interest thereof to be distributed on St. Thomas' Day amongst the Poor of this Township who do not receive parochial Relief. 1680. The Reverend . John Ambrose B.D. Rector of Grasmere gave the Sum of £50 the Interest thereof to be paid towards the Maintenance of a Schoolmaster in this Township. 1680. Anthony Dawson of Grasmere gave the Sum of £7 the Interest thereof to be. used towards the Support of a Schoolmaster in this Township. 1796. William Waters of Thornhow gave £80, the Interest from which to be used for the Benefit of the Schoolmaster of this Township. 1807. William and Elend (?) Waters gave £200, the Interest arising therefrom to be distributed every Lady day among the Poor or this Township who do not receive parochial Relief.
