Heversham (E. altar tomb, rail). Sacred memory of John Yeates Esqre, late of Park Head,
Levens, and formerly of Kirkland, Kendal, who died December 23rd, 1847 aged 51
y., as a mark of the esteem in which he was held by his fellow townsmen, he
was elected the first Mayor of the ancient Borough of Kendal after the
passing of the Municipal Reform Act ; also in m. Margaretta his wife, who died
September 29th, 1847 aged 45 years.

aged 34 years. , also on February 11th, 1860 John Anthony Yeates aged 6 m. the
infant son of the above John Yeates Yeates and Mary Frances his wife, also

. . Holt who died on the 18th of October 1875 aged 34 years.

Kendal (In. S). Sacred memory of Agnes Yeates, only daughter of John and Mary Yeates of
Kirkland, who died November . 25th 1827, in the 77th years. of her age, also of George,
fourth son of the above John and Mary Yeates, who died August 21st 1835 aged
86 years. , and of Anthony their eldest son, who died January 31st 1837 aged 93 years.
Arms, per chevron or and gu. 3 gates of the first. Crest, out of ducal
crown, lamb's head.

Memory of Anthony Yeates of Hood Riding in Old Hutton who died . . . Agnes. .
. . Also Anthony who died 177 . . . . Aged . . . . Mary his Widow died the 19th
of . . . Also of Anthony, Margaret and Mary their children. Thomas Yeates Son
of the said Anthony and Mary, Ordered this Inscription [brass on stone].
This Monument is the First erected in this Church Yard and is to the memory of Anthony
Yeates, of Hood Riding, in Old Hutton, Who died the 21st July 1723 Aged 72,
also of Agnes his Widow, Who died the 15th December . 1758 Aged 81, also of Anthony
their Son, Who died the 28th October 1775 Aged 75, and Mary his Widow, Who died
the 19th March 1787 Aged 85.
Kendal (In. s. W. floor). To the memory of Dorothy Yeates late wife of Thomas Yeates, town
clerk of Kendal, who died the 30th day of October 1784 in the 46th years. of her
age; George Fell and Mary his wife, her father and mother, and James,
William, Edward, and Elizabeth, four of their children, also lie interred
here, also of the said Thomas Yeates, who died 16th September 1791 aged 59,
and Edward Yeates his son, who died 22nd of September 1790 aged 19. Also of
Anthony George, third son of John and Margaretta Yeates ; and great-grand
son of the above Thomas Yeates, he died November 25th 1837 aged 7 years.

Hutton Yeats in Old Hutton who departed life December 26, 1784. Also of the above Thomas
Yeates who departed this life January 13, 1785 in the 74th years. of his age. And of Elizabeth
his wife who departed this life April 11, 1799 aged 83 years. Also of Agnes Yeates, daughter of
the said Thomas and Elizabeth Yeates, who died January 23, 1807 aged 71 years.

escutcheon of pretence 41y. 1 Brettargh, 2 Toxteth, 3 Ackberg, 4 Ives.
(Brass under window). This tablet is in affectionate remembrance of
George Henry Brettargh Yeates Esquire, of Brettargh Holt, Milnthorpe, who
died October 18th, 1875, aged 34 years. and was interred at Heversham October
21st. This was placed in memory of the above by his widow Caroline Beatrice
Yeates A.D.1878.

Aged 70. Here also lies Interred Susannah, Wife of James Garnett who died
Jany. 7th 1838 Aged 69. Also Eleanor, Wife of William Storey who died January
15th 1838 Aged 64.
Kendal (N. wall). In memory of Jane Matthews who died December . 1st 1835 aged 77. She was for
56 years. a faithful servant in the family of the Yeates's of Kirkland; for
honest worth she had few equals.
Kirkby Lonsdale (W. stone edging). In loving memory William Flasby Yeates of Kirkby Lonsdale who
d. the 22nd of May 1879 aged 59 years.
Kirkby Lonsdale (W). In memory of Leonard Yeats, second son of James and Agnes Yeats of
Keastwick, who died October 25th 1847 aged 30 years. Agnes Yeats wife of James
Yeats, who died April 14th 1857 aged 67 years. Gilbert Yeats youngest son of James
and Agnes Yeats, who died April 18th 1857 aged 30 years.
N.B.-Judith Carus (W. wall) p.85. This slab seemed to Mr. Bellasis to
have a date just decipherable, i.e. 1786. A note of his upon it reads ' Near
(this place) Are interred the Remains of . . . Wife of . . . She died 1786 . .
. Are interred the Rem(ains) of . ."
