Beetham (S). Sacred memory of Edward Askew of Overthwaite, Yeoman, who departed this life on the l0th day
of February 1854 Aged 62 years. In death lamented As in Life beloved, also of
Betty, widow of the above who died October 23rd 1867 aged 75 years.
Heversham (S). Sacred memory of Jane Askew of Milnthorpe, who departed this life December the 7th, 1829
aged 64 years.
Heversham (S. altar tomb). In memory of Betty Hurst, Wife of John Hurst, of Caton and daughter
of Thomas & Elizabeth Watson of Park-house who died October 31, 1802 Aged 33,
also of Elizabeth Hurst daughter of John & Betty Hurst, who died April 22, 1802
Aged 1 years. & 3 m. Thomas Thompson Askew died February 8th, 1811 aged 8 years. Thomas
Watson died Janry. 7th, 1815 Aged 79. Elizabeth Watson died Janry.l0th, 1820
Aged 83. Also of Eleanor the Wife of Thomas Watson of Park-house, who died
August 5th, 1821 aged 63 years. Also of Thomas Watson of Park-house and Son of
the above Thomas and Elizabeth Watson, who died February 19th, 1823 aged 60 years.
Kendal (N.W.) Anthony Askew, died May 23th , 1830, aged 68.
Kendal (In. Parr chapel floor, once with oak rail on two sides; wood-work now in
the way, and shield of arms, &c., invisible). Here lyeth the Body of William
Askew, late of Standingstones, in the Parish of Millom, and County of
Cumberland, Gent., who departed this life the 13th of April, in the years. of our Lord 1717,
and of his Age the 80th. He marryed Dorothy, the davghter of William Mvsgrave
of Crookdake in the said County, Esqr., by whom he had only one svrviving
davghter, now the wife of John Archer of Oxen Holme, Esqr. (Mr. ]ennings’
copy, 20th October 1863).

May 8, 1799, Aged 40.

Glazier, who departed this life 6th of April, 1796, Aged 78 years. Also of Mary his Wife, who
d. 14th of April, 1796. Aged 76 years.
Kendal (In. E. Bellingham chapel). Here lie the Remains of George Askew of
Kendal, Glazier and Painter, who departed this life October 2nd, 1789, Aged 40 years. The
Loss of him is much regretted by his Family, He being a tender Parent, and
affectionate Husband and a sincere Friend.
Kendal (N. W .) In memory of John Shepherd late of Kirkby Ireleth, Lancashire, who died
August 1st 1823 Aged 73 years. Also of Agnes his Widow who died May 11th 1825 Aged
71 years. No splendid Monument is necessary to perfect their virtue, they are
entombed in the Hearts of their own Family to be effaced only by death. Also
of Mary Askew their grand- child who died March 15th 1824 Aged 2 years. and 9 m.

February 1832 aged 45 years. Also four children of the above, Agnes, died
November 1824 aged 2 days. Elizabeth, died June 1827 aged 3 years. Edward, died
September 1829 aged 1 years. John died .October 1832, aged 1 years. and also of
Elizabeth, relict of the above Richard Askew, who departed this life on the 30th
September 1863 aged 68 years.
