Beetham (In. S). Near this Pillar is interred ye Body of George Crowle Esq. of
Cunswick, who departed this life at Beethom ye 17th of April an. Dom. 1753 Aged 44. His
afflicted Widow erected this Monument to his memorv. Also Elizabeth, Dr. of
Samuel Wood Son of William . Wood Esqr. of Woolverhampton, & Elizabeth his Wife,
Relict of the above Geo. Crowle Esqr. who died 30th April 1772 Aged 14. Also
Elizabeth, Wife of Samuel Wood. She died May 25th 1787 Aged 62. And their Son,
Samuel Wood of Milnthrop, who died March the 18th 1795 at the Age of 32Y. much
lamented. Also of Frances Wood, Relict of the late Samuel Wood. B. October
2nd 1772, died June 1st 1821. Arms, unicorn passant between 3 fusils.
Beetham (In. S). To the memory of John Charles Crowle Esq., who died March 7,1811, aged 76,
his remains are interred in Grosvenor Chapel, London.
Beetham (In. pillar S). Near this Pillar are interred the Remains of Daniel
Wilson Esqr. of Dallam Tower who. departed this life the 31st of May An. Dom. 1754 Aged
74. He married Elizabeth, daughter of William Crowle Esqr. of Hull in Yorkshire
By whom he had Issue 6 Son and 2 daughters He represented the County of
Westmoreland in Parliament near 40 years. with the strictest Honour and
Integrity. In private Life
He was an Affectionate Husband, An Indulgent Parent, A sincere Friend, An
Hospitable Neighbour, and in all Stations of Life His Conduct was Uniform &
Consistent. His Son Edward Wilson Esqre. erected this Monument to his
Memory.
Beetham (Chancel S). Here is interred the body of Sarah, eldest daughter & heiress of
Daniel Wilson Esqr. and Wife of George Wilson Esqr. of Dallam Tower, born July
26th 1782, she died , alas, May 29th 1831 in the 49th years. of her age, leaving a
large surviving family, her encouraging example by patient continuance in
well doing, to seek for Glory, Immortality, and Eternal life. " The ornament
of a meek and quiet spirit is in the sight of God of great price." 1 Peter
chap. 3. In the adjoining vault are laid the remains of Frances Wilson,
youngest daughter of the above who died December 30th 1842 in the 23rd years. of
her age." " I will never leave thee nor forsake thee." here also lie the
remains of George Wilson Esqr. husband of the above Sarah Wilson, son of the
Rt. Honl. John and Lady Georgiana Smyth of Heath in the county of York,
formerly Colonel in the Coldstream Guards, born November 6th 1782, died March
8th 1853. " Him that cometh unto me I will in no wise cast out." Arms. Ar. 3
wolves' heads couped sa. vulned ppr. & (for distinction) canton az. {Wilson
né Smyth), over all an inescutcheon, 41y. 1 & 4 Ar. 3 wolves' heads couped
