Kirkby Lonsdale (E. wall). Near hereto lies the body of Mr. Samuel Wallis Son of Mr. Samuel Wallis of Scruton in the County of York. he was an officer in the excise many years. which trust he discharged with great credit. he m. Mrs. Agnes Moore daughter of Mr. William Moore of Barwens in this Parish. He died January the 24th 1768 aged 69 years.
