Hindson their son & Elizabeth his wife & their descendants viz Jane the beloved wife of Thomas Hindson who was born at Lazonby & who died at Rosgill Hall May 9th 1855. Also one of his sisters Jane wife of Thomas Cooper, late of Hegdale. Four of the children of Thos: & Jane Hindson, died in infancy & Mary Ann their youngest was taken to an early rest November 2nd 1869 aged 23 years. leaving many who sincerely & truly mourn her loss, four of her brothers & two sisters surviving her.

Also Isabella their daughter who died June the 13th, 1829, aged 48 . Also of Ann Mackenzie their daughter who departed this life December . 11th 1831 aged 56 years. She was a dutiful Wife, an affectionate Parent, and a sincere Christian. Also here lieth the Body of the above-named Jonathan Scott who died at Burneside near Kendal May 19th 1806 in the 86 years. of his age. Also Jonathan Scott, Esq., of Watermillock, their son who. died January 31st l838 in the 86 years. of his age.

Let me die the death of the rightious & let my last end be like his, Numb. xxiii, 10. This monument is erected to the memory of John & Jane Close by their Grandson William Sewell of Trelawny in the Island of Jamaica, West Indies in remembrance of their affectionate kindness to him when a boy, July 1855.
