Thwaites Appleby St Lawrence

(E). In memory of Miss Frances Thwaites of Appleby who died December 21, 1859 aged 79 years. Behold the Lamb of God which taketh away the sin of the world. 1st ST. JOHN, 29 v. In memory of John Thwaites, Esq., died May 24, 1799 aged 50 years. Elizabeth his widow died September . 21st 1838, aged 82 years. Here also are deposited the honoured remains of George Thwaites, Memory of D., who died much beloved and sincerely regretted June 17th 1850 aged 53 years. "The memory of the just is blessed."

(S. aisle, brass). Here Iyes Interre'd the body of John Thwaites Esquire Maior of the Burrow of Appleby, in the County of Westmorland who died I. the 26th day of January anno domini 1698, anno ætatis suae 70.

(N.E.) In memory of Mary wife of Thomas Thwaites of Garden house, Appleby who died July 15, 1868, aged 59 years. Also of the above Thomas Thwaites, who died January I4th 1884 aged 78 years.

(W). To Memory of Nanny The Wife of John Thwaites who died September . 1st, 1821, Aged 52 years. Also the above John Thwaites who died July 1st, 1860, aged 89 years. Also Robert Thwaites their Son died March 24th, 1820, Aged 14 years. Also of Mary Thwaites of Asby, and daughter of the above who died 27th January 1875, aged 64 years.

Sacred memory of WilliamThwaites of Great Asby, Yeoman, for 47 years. the faithful Steward of John Hill, Esq., and Miss Ann Newell Hill of Castle Bank, Appleby, Who died 18th March 1885, Aged 87 years. Also of Richard Thwaites of Great Asby, Yeoman, for 57 years. in the same service with his brother William abovenamed, who died l6th April 1885, aged 73 years.

Thwaites Brough

(W). Erected in Memory of Thomas Thwaites late Governor of Appleby Gaol Who departed this life April 30th 1849 Aged 66 years. He lived respected and beloved by all classes of Society and died deeply-regretted by his family and friends. Near this place are also interred Three of his infant daughters

Richard Thwaites of London died Sepbr.7th 1871 aged 53 years.
