Fletcher Barton

Chancel E. brass). Hic jacet Francisca Dawes filia Thomae Fletcher de Strickland Armigeri natu maxima per quam charissima quidem et perdilecta uxor Lanceloti Dawes de Barton-Kirke, Generosi, quæ huic mundo spe multa melioris vicessimo tertio die Februarii valedixit : Anno Ætatis suae xxiii Annoque Domini 1673. Under this stone, Reader, Interr'd doth lye, beauty and Vertue's true Epitomy, Att her appearance the noone-sun blush'd & shrunke in cause quite outdon. In her concenter'd did all graces dwell god pluck'd my Rose yt he might take a smell I'll say noe more; but weeping wish I may soone with thy Deare chast ashes come to lay. Sic efflevit maritus. (These last three words are now, 1886, gone, but are given by N. & B. 1.405.)

Die 24° A.D. mdcxxxiii, Inter deflendis Gentis Patriæ Miserias, Hoc unicum habuit Ætatis juvenilioris Solamen Quod In Uxorem duxerat Barbaram died Hen. Fletcher, Filiam Plurimis Amoris Pignoribus Undecem Filiis, Quatuorque Filiabus Charissimam Redeunti Anglorum Astreæ A.D. mdclx Faces Praetulit, Primus Cumbriæ Vicecomes, In Ordinem merito receptus Equestrem A.D. mdclxxxi. In Senatorium mdclxxxv. Fletcher Grasmere

(N). Sacred memory of Elizabeth, Wife of Archibald Fletcher Esqr. Advocate, Edinburgh. She was born on the 15th of January 1770, and died on the 5th of February 1858. "When the ear heard her, it blessed her. When the eye saw her it gave witness to her." Job. "If we love one another God dwelleth in us, and his love is perfected in us." John 1st Ep. S. also to the memory of Mary, youngest daughter of the above and Widow of Sir John Richardson. She was born May l0th 1802. She died October 17th 1880.

Fletcher Grasmere

(In. centre wall S. medallion). Sacred memory of Elizabeth wife of the late Archibald Fletcher Esqre. advocate of Edinburgh. She was born on the 15th of January 1770, and died at Lancrigg in this parish on the 5th of February 1858, "her children arise up and call her blessed. " Proverbs c xxxi. v. 28.f

(E). Sacred memory of John Fletcher, Yeoman, of Townhead, Grasmere, who departed this life the 25th Day of January 1854 Aged 82 years. Also of Mary his Wife who departed this life May lst 1865 Aged 77 years.

Fletcher Heversham

(E. broken altar tomb). Here lie the Remains of Jenny wife of Christopher Cowperthwaite late of Nether Levens who departed this life Ju(ne) the (15th Regr). . .1739 in the. . .Y. of Age. (Sh)e was a kind Neighbour, a dutiful Wife, and (Here) also lie the Remains of Ann, daughter of William (&) Hannah Fletcher of Kendal . . .Grand daughter to the. . . who departed this life (Aug)ust 22, 17(73) ? in the l1th . . . Age. (Worn away).

Fletcher Kendal

(Old. vicarage wall S.E). Here Lyes interred the Remains of Elizabeth daughter of Benjamin & Elizabeth Fletcher Who do L. November the 26th 1780 Aged 24 years. Elizabeth, Wife of Benjamin Fletcher of Highgate died 24th October 1783 Aged 61. Benjamin Fletcher, of Pinkie Street, died 13th July 1793 Aged 84. (Mr. Jennings).

Fletcher Kendal

(S. Wall, removed thither in 1849, with others, from mid aisle floor, on the church being partially re-flagged), Here lie the Remains of Hannah, Wife of William Fletcher, Apothecary and Surgeon, who departed this life April 2d 1752 in the 37th years. of her Age, she was daughter to Christopher & Jennet Cowperthwaite late of Nether Levens. She was an affectionate and dutiful Wife and daughter and an indulgent Parent. (Mr Jennings.)
