Redman Appleby St Lawrence

(N. Aisle, Window). Arms, 1. gu. 3 cushions erm. tasselled or (Redman) ; 2. az. 6 annulets 3, 2, 1, or (Musgrave). Dugdale, 1664, Coll. Arms, & Hill MSS.I. 161, citing Machell.

Redman Burton In Kendal

(Arms in Burton Church as tricked in Hill MSS. ii. 305). Ar.3 bars gu., on canton quatrefoil or (Preston of Preston Patrick). Ditto impaling gu. 3 cushions (Redman).

Redman Kendal

(In. brass, Bellingham chapel). Here lyeth the body of Mrs. Catherine Redman, wife of Mr. Christopher Redman, Alderman of K: Kendal, who dyed the 13 day of February Anno Domi 1688. Ætatis Suæ 52.

Redman Kirkby Lonsdale

(In. tower wall N). Near this place Lie the Remains of Mrs. Elizth. Redman, Leaving to the World a rare Example of Unaffected Piety Extensive Liberality and Universal Benevolence. She died l Mar. 19th 1760 aged 62. In due regard to whose Memory Her affecte. Husband Mr. Giles Redman of this Town Gentn. Erected this Monument A.D. 1761.

Redman Kirkby Lonsdale

(In. N. Tower wall). Near this place lie the Remains of Giles Redman of Kirkby Lonsdale, Gentleman, Who departed this life on the 4th Day of March 1778, In the 90th years. of his Age. In due Regard to whose Memory his disconsolate Relict as a token of Gratitude erected this Monument. And in the same Place lie the Remains of Mrs. Agnes Redman his said Relict who departed this life on the 15th of April 1799 in the 81st years. of her Age.* * Mr. G. Redman was a native of Kendal, and eldest son of Alderman Gyles Redman, of Stricklandgate. He was christened at Kendal Church, Januaray 21st, 1689. He was by trade an Apothecary, and was Mayor of Kendal in 1725-6. (Mr. Jennings).

Redman Orton

(W). Here lies interred James Redman, Parish Clerk and Schoolmaster of Orton who died November 4th 1786 aged 53 years. Also Elizabeth his wife who died January 16th 1816 aged 80.

Redman Orton

(In. N). Sacred memory of John and Thomas, sons of James Redman for many years. parish clerk and schoolmaster of Orton. John, Vicar of this parish died January 23 A.D.1802 aged 43. Thomas, Vicar of Kirkharle, died May 25 A.D. 1855 aged 94. "Take ye heed, watch and pray for ye know not when the time is." St. Mark xiii. 33.
