Bowman Askham

(S). In Memory of the Reverend John Bowman, Memory of A., of Wooking (sic) Vicarage Surry (sic) who died at Askham Oct. 19th 1852 aged 49 years. Also of Mary his wife who d. at Newbury, Berkshire, July 1st 1854 aged 59 years.

Bowman Askham

(S. With 2 Brasses on stone). 1, Underneath lies interred Thomas Bowman of Askham who departed this life February 3rd 1799 Aged 65 years. Also Margaret Ritson his first wife who died May 4th 1773 aged 37 years. And Mary their daughter who died September . 2nd 1780 Aged 18 years. Death no respect of Age or Order makes, But child or Parent undistinguish'd takes. Oh! be prepared then all of every age, Warn'd or unwarn'd, to quit this troubled stage. God's gracious Promise in his Rest to dwell Is not to live long but doing well. 2, In Memory of William Bowman of Askham who died April 28th 1829 aged 58 years. Also Ann the wife of William Sisson who died December . I4th 1827 aged 33 years. Also Deborah the wife of Richard Sutton who died June 24th 1829 aged 23 years. Also Jane Bowman who died March 30th 1831 aged 26 years. Also Edmund Bowman who died February 21st 1833 aged 26 years. Also Deborah Bowman died at Forest Hill June 30th 1856 aged 84 years. Also Richard Bowman died at Tycooly, Ireland, September . 26th 1871 aged 58 years. (Other side) Remember now as you go-by, As you are now so once was I, As I am now so must you be, Prepare then for Eternity. "It is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgement." Hebrews ix, 27. To Die! The Christian does not die – Who lives to Christ alone, But lives eternally, Through what his Saviour's done.

Bowman Askham

(In. S). Sacred memory of John Thompson formerly of -Penrith who died I. August 2nd 1842 aged 85 years. Also of Rachel Bowman his sister who died March 28th 1842 aged 76 years. Also of Hannah Thompson who died June 29th 1856 aged 51 years. Hail glorious Gospel; heavenly light, whereby We live with comfort & with comfort die, And view beyond this gloomy scene, the tomb, A life of everlasting happiness to come.

Bowman Bampton

(N). To Margaret Bowman Daughter of Joseph Bowman, High Roughill, Hampton, who died I. February . 23rd 1875 aged 86 years. “O tarry thou the Lord's leisure; be strong and he shall comfort thine heart, and put thou thy trust in the Lord." Psalm 27. 16 Verse. In my wanderings round this world of care, In my griefs, and God has given my share, I still had hopes, my long vexations pass'd, Here to return and die at home at last.-(Goldsmith). Bowman Barton

(S.W. brass on stone). Near this place are interred the remains of Edmund Bowman of Celleron who died the l0th day of April 1793 aged 82 years. , also of Elizabeth his wife formerly Elizabeth Calvert who died the 2nd day of November 1791 aged 75y.

Bowman Barton

(S. W). In memory of Edmund Bowman late of Celleron who died January the 2nd 1810 aged 62 years. Also of Mary his wife formerly Mary Wise who died December the 24th 1837 aged 85 years.

Bowman Brough

(S). The Memory of the Just is blessed. In a. R. William Bowman of Brough who died April l0th 1873 aged 5I years. Also John, son of the above who died August 8th 1868 aged 22 years. and was interred at Willesden Cemetery, London.

Bowman Burton In Kendal

(E). I. H. S. In A. R. Henry Bowman who died January 27th 1881 aged 66 years. , also of Abigail his wife, who died December 5th 1857 aged 40 years. ''And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain; for the former things are passed away.'' Reverend chap, 21. ver. 4.

(S). In memory of Joseph Dobson of Mains House who died April 4th 1841 aged 79 years. Also of Isabella Dobson his wife who died August 2nd 1823 aged 55 years. Thomas Dobson their son who died July 1, 1813 Aged 8 years. William Dobson their son who died Feb 5, 1824 aged 14 years. Margaret Bowman their daughter who died July 16th 1849 aged 46 years. Also of Geo. Dobson their son who died Ap. 16,1854 aged 46 years.

(S. W). In loving memory Amy Elizabeth the beloved daughter of Thomas & Margaret Lancaster, B. July 22th 1873 died July 16th 1885. "Thy will be done." Also of Mary Bowman late of Long Marton who died at Kirkby Thore April l0th 1877 aged 83 years.
